National Manager, Companion Animal Division
BILINGUAL: Speaks, reads, and writes English & French is preferred
LOCATION: Edmonton, AB, Cambridge, ON or Montreal, QC is preferred
The National Manager is responsible for leading, managing and coaching a team of Managers to execute the company’s sales and operations strategies within the companion animal division. This position will be directly accountable for attaining the company divisional sales plans and objectives within their division. As the National Manager, you will be responsible for setting goals, applying successful metrics, and developing and deploying competitive strategies to maximize the company’s growth and profitability by providing outstanding customer service and excellent vendor relations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Leads a team of experienced Managers in geographically dispersed locations.
• Responsible for the effective operations, profitability, and growth of a division(s) of the business unit.
• Develop budgets, forecasting and sales targets, as well as set expectations.
• Impact and seize opportunities to build organizational efficiency and process improvements to impact business results positively.
• Utilize knowledge and expertise of local market trends, institutions, and key customers to optimize our strategy to deliver sales results at a national level.
• Initiate growth strategies, including new markets and alternative channels.
• Liaise with external and internal stakeholders, assist with key manufacturer meetings, negotiate pricing, contracts, etc.
• Utilize internal resources, such as market data and analysis, to shape business plans and to provide insight and guidance to branch plans to drive business results.
• Plan and attend key industry tradeshows.
• Create and manage KPIs. Manage direct reports, including hiring, development, performance management, team accountability, goal setting, and action plans that align with the enterprise.
• Strong training, coaching and mentoring skills in the spirit of advancing the Company and its team members.
• Ensure direct reports know and follow business policies, practices, and the Company’s Code of Conduct to create a supportive and productive working environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all policies and standards.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Seven years of experience at a management level.
• Bachelor’s degree in general business, management, sales or related field and/or equivalent education and experience.
• High level of business analysis experience utilizing data-driven software (e.g. Power BI) and efficiently using technology.
• Advanced analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, perform cost analysis, and draw meaningful insights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors.
• Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities, able to align divisional strategies with organizational goals and objectives.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex relationships.
• Advanced experience using Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Experience in inventory management, including excess and obsolete management.
• Ability to work and influence others from different functional areas and levels within and outside the organization.
• Knowledge of process improvement tools and techniques
• Strong desire to learn and grow within the company and position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s degree in business, management or related field.
• 5 years of sales experience, preferably in a related industry
• 3+ years’ experience in a wholesale distribution center
• Bilingual (fluent in English & French)
TRAVEL
• Local, national and international travel is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Strong track record of achieving results individually and through the leadership of others. Must be able to motivate and coach staff and provide leadership and direction to team members.
• Proven relationship-building skills with the ability to work creatively and independently to identify and develop relationships.
• Experience working in B2B with a field-based sales organization.
• Financial business acumen, including understanding financial reports and operating statements.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to drive changes to meet evolving business needs.
• Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the capability of articulating the Company’s ongoing strategic product/market vision to employees and customers.
• Commitment to innovation, integrity and partnership.
• Prior knowledge of sales and asset management is a plus.

Territory Manager, Companion Animal Division (Southern Quebec)
Job Summary
As a Territory Manager in the Companion Animal Division, you are responsible for maintaining and expanding your assigned customer base in the geographical region of Southern Quebec. This includes achieving the territory’s annual sales, revenue, and gross profit goals.
Essential Functions

• Develop and execute targeted strategies under the company’s Companion Animal Division to achieve budgeted sales expectations and other established goals
• Retain established accounts and develop new customer accounts to increase market share.
• Partner with customers to understand their business needs and requirements and proactively recommend products and solutions. Provide impeccable support: Respond to customer queries, answer questions, and solve problems promptly.
• Review and manage contract pricing, sales targets and customer relations.
• Attend and participate in customer events, trade shows and sales meetings.
• Must meet forecasted goals.
• Maintain a current knowledge of the industry, consumer preferences, company products, programs, market conditions, and competition.
• Gain understanding of and adhere to Accounts Receivables policies and practices.
• Ensure accuracy in customer orders and territory records, document all customer interactions and potential sales opportunities, and maintain accurate financial documentation.
• Utilize sales and promotional offers to grow the territory and educate customers on new products.
• Must maintain an acceptable driving record.
• The Territory Manager may perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
• Associate degree in business, marketing, sales, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Exceptional customer service and organization skills.
• Bilingual: Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English and French
• Self-motivated
• Ability to analyze financial information
• Skillful negotiation and presentation abilities
• Accuracy and strong attention to detail.
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

This position requires extensive travel and overnight stays regionally. Some national and international travel required as needed.
