May 4th, 2023, OTTAWA, ON: Pets Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Bernard Lalonde, to the new position of National Programs Manager. Mr. Lalonde joins Pets Canada with over 25 years of extensive experience in project management and a deep knowledge of business development.
A seasoned manager, Bernard’s career includes emergency management, program development, and sales and marketing which illustrates his flexibility in taking on a wide range of files. His first-hand knowledge of small business ownership gives him an invaluable understanding of the realities faced by Pets Canada members. Bernard’s unique blend of professional leadership experience will allow him to orchestrate the varied professional development, sector recognition, and partnership pathways for the association to hit the targets outlined in the Pets Canada strategic plan.

With Bernard’s expertise, we will have the capability to widen the scope of our efforts, thereby expanding the resources we have to raise national standards within our sector. His years of hands-on project management and keen understanding of partner development, lend themselves to the successful future of the association,”, says Christine Carrière, President & CEO of Pets Canada.
“Much of my career has been linked to serving the community. Raising standards whether, Health Care, IT, or Seniors Care Homes has been the common thread throughout my working life. As a frequent caregiver to the animals on my daughter’s hobby farm, and a long history of family pets, I welcome the responsibility of once again focusing on raising the bar, but this time for pets.”, explains Lalonde.
Lalonde joined Pets Canada on Monday May 1st 2023.
