Dear industry stakeholders,

We are pleased to inform you that the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has successfully negotiated new health certificates for the export of the following Animal By-Products (ABP) from Canada to Moldova:

  • Milk-based and milk-derived products not for human consumption
  • Canned pet food
  • Processed pet food other than canned pet food

If you are interested in exporting these commodities to Moldova, please contact your local CFIA office to obtain more information, prior to shipping. You can use the following link to find the closest office: Contact a Canadian Food Inspection Agency office by telephone – Canadian Food Inspection Agency (canada.ca)

The Guideline for preparing export certificates for the Canadian pet food industry will be updated accordingly to reflect the requirements that must be included in the exporter’s declaration. Additionally, we recommend that you obtain the official and detailed import requirements from your Moldovan importer(s), applicable to your products, including information on the import process and specific documentation required.  Incomplete and/or insufficient documentation may result in rejection of the shipment at the foreign country and is solely the responsibility of the exporting agent/company.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at aafc.mas-sam.aac@agr.gc.ca.

Sincerely,
